Laser Hair Removal

What Methods of Hair Removal are Available?
Shaving is the most common way to remove hair. It can cause irritation, bumps and ingrown hairs and only lasts a day or two. Plucking or tweezing leads to a more attractive and loger lasting result than shaving, but can be painful and tedious, but there is no permanence and must be repeated when the hair regrows. Waxing is also quite painful and can cause allergic reactions and inflammation. Electrolysis, until now has provided the only long-term method for the elimination of unwanted hair. During electrolysis, a needle is inserted into each individual hair follicle. This process is tedious removing one hair at a time and can take years of treatment to achieve any long-term results.

How is Hair Removed by Laser?
The laser emits a powerful beam of invisible light which passes quite harmlessly through the skin, but is selectively absorbed by the hair follicle. This disables the hair follicle, affecting its ability to grow hair.

What areas can be treated?
The entire body, except the lower eyebrows.

How fast is the treatment?
Each laser pulse treats about a 1 inch area, which can contain 15 or more hairs. The amount of time needed depends on the size of the area being treated. The upper lip area usually takes less than 1 minute.

What is the fee?
Small to midsized areas cost on average $125 to $500. Large areas (back, leg) are usually package-priced.

Does it hurt?
A very cold Aloe Vera Gel is used, which helps to numb the area.

Is it permanent?
The FDA has approved our lasers for permanent hair reduction. Original study patients have remained hair-free for over 9 years!
